MetLife Completes Acquisition of SafeGuard

We are pleased to announce MetLife has completed its acquisition of SafeGuard Health Enterprises, Inc. and that SafeGuard is now a part of the MetLife family.

Notice to California participants in SafeGuard’s dental or vision HMO: On August 6, 2007, the parent company of SafeGuard Health Plans, Inc. (“SafeGuard”) entered into an agreement to be acquired by a subsidiary of MetLife, Inc. (“MetLife”) (the “Transaction”). As required by California law, SafeGuard filed information regarding the Transaction with the California Department of Managed Health Care (the “DMHC”). The DMHC reviewed the filings and approved the Transaction.
