Dental HMO/Prepaid Dental Plans

These plans provide affordable care through a network of highly qualified dentists. There are no waiting periods, calendar year maximums, or deductibles and no claim forms. With these plans, each enrolled family member may choose their own dentist from the SafeGuard directory and the plans are comprehensive, covering more procedures than many other dental benefits providers.

 

Our extensive provider networks are supported by over 9,150 dentists in California, Florida, Nevada, and Texas. Voluntary and employer-paid programs are available.

 

Dental Indemnity/PPO Plans

SafeGuard offers a variety of indemnity type plans, all with access to a network of contracted dentists. They follow the traditional dental insurance plan design with calendar year maximums, deductibles and coinsurance percentages. We have variations of the standard 80 and 90 percentile plans and we also offer MAC (Maximum Allowable Charge) plans as an alternative. Voluntary and employer paid options are available.

 

We have extensive networks in California, Nevada, Florida, and Texas with network presence in 17 other states, and more than 21,200 dentists nationwide.

 

Scheduled Benefit

These plans provide an alternative solution to standard dental HMO or indemnity plans. They pay a fixed amount per procedure -- network restrictions and coinsurance calculations are eliminated -- and the premiums are usually lower than indemnity.

 

Plans include a calendar year maximum and deductible and some plans have waiting periods on certain procedures. The Schedule of Reimbursement shows every covered procedure and the amount SafeGuard reimburses for each, making these plans easy for enrollees to understand.

 

Vision Plans

SafeGuard has a variety of vision plans offering a full range of benefit coverage. Plan designs include various benefit levels and cover comprehensive exams, frames and lenses, and contact lenses. Laser vision correction discounts are also included. We even have a "Hardware Only" plan that can be used in conjunction with a medical plan that only covers exams.

 

Our broad range of plans are available as voluntary or employer paid. Networks of over 8,000 eye care professionals in California, Florida and Texas support our plans.

 

 

ASO (Administrative Services Only)

 

Today more than ever, companies are choosing to self-insure their employee benefit programs.

 

With a SafeGuard ASO program, clients realize the potential advantages of cost control, increased cash flow flexibility and they directly determine what benefits they offer. Clients have the option of developing their own plan design or giving us their benefit objectives from which to create a benefits program.

 

ASO services include rapid claims turn-around, no "per check" charge, standard collaterals, no set-up fee, and access to SafeGuard's networks, Client and Customer Service.

 

 

EAP (Employee Assistance Programs)

 

EAP is a program designed to help employees and their families with problems that can compromise personal satisfaction, and sometimes, job performance. It provides confidential counseling, resources and action plans to help address these kinds of problems.

 

SafeGuard has partnered with Horizon Behavioral Services, one of the most respected EAP providers in the United States, to offer clients EAP.

 

We offer EAP with 3 or 6 sessions, with or without Work/Life services. Work/Life provides resources for many of the tasks that a person faces on a daily basis, such as child care referrals or financial counseling.

 

Our plans have low rates, 24/7 access to counseling, and with 100% participation, are available to all household members of the employee. EAP is offered as employer paid only.
